The products
Are these medicines? No. Botanica Essentia products are cosmetics. They cleanse, moisturise and scent the skin and change how it looks and feels. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are under a practitioner's care, ask them before trying something new.
Who makes them? Connie Jacoby, a naturopath and herbalist with more than twenty years in practice in central Missouri. She formulates every product and blends in small batches. to be confirmed
Are they natural? Organic? They are made with plant oils, botanical extracts and essential oils. We use the word "organic" only for ingredients we hold a certificate for, and at launch that is to be confirmed. We do not describe anything as "chemical-free", because everything is made of chemicals, including water.
Do they contain fragrance? Only from essential oils. There is no synthetic fragrance in any product. to be confirmed The Exfoliant Cleanser is unscented.

Should I patch test? Yes, every product, before first use. Apply a little to the inside of the forearm and wait 24 hours. Stop using any product that irritates your skin.
Can I use them while pregnant or nursing? Several products contain essential oils that are not recommended in pregnancy, including the three undiluted blends and Calmer le Bete'. Ask your practitioner first, and read the cautions on each product page.
Can children use them? The undiluted essential oil blends and Calmer le Bete' are not for children. For anything else, ask your practitioner.
What is the order of the skincare ritual? Twice a week, begin with the Exfoliant Cleanser. Then, morning and evening: Juvenesse, Elixir de Eve, Vitamine Complex, Final Phase Lift. At night, finish with Sublime Humectant, and the Macadamia Lipid Treatment if you like. It is on the Ritual page with the products linked.
How much should I use? Less than you think. The serums and elixirs are a few drops; the crèmes are a light layer. The undiluted essential oil blends are one drop, diluted in a carrier oil before they touch skin.
The glass
Why can't I see how much is left? The glass is violet, dense enough to look black, and that is what limits the light reaching the contents. Stand the bottle against a lamp and the level shows. A 30 ml bottle used as directed lasts about to be confirmed.
How do I look after the bottle? Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat. Wipe the neck after use. Do not put it in the dishwasher.
Can I recycle it? Violet glass is not accepted by every kerbside programme. We would rather you kept the bottle: wash it and reuse it. to be confirmed

Can I choose what goes in a box? Yes. Choose a box by size, 10, 15, 30 or 50 ml, and Connie's selection is already in it. Swap any piece for another at that size, keeping at least four, and leave the Vesperal oil or the soap out if you like. The pieces are 15% off, rounded to the nearest $5, and the Botanica Essentia set box, the crest in gold, each piece nested inside, is included. The four boxes are on the boxes page.
Where do you ship? Within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and PO boxes. to be confirmed

When will my order ship? Within to be confirmed business days. You will get a tracking number by email.
My parcel arrived broken. Email hello@botanicaessentia.com within to be confirmed days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will replace or refund it, shipping included. Please do not use a product whose glass is cracked.
Can I return something? Unopened products, within to be confirmed days of delivery. Opened products only if they arrived damaged or are faulty. Details on the Shipping and Returns page.
Do you charge sales tax? Only where the law requires it, which at launch is Missouri. to be confirmed
How do you take payment? Through Square. We never see your card number.
