Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
This policy explains what Botanica Essentia, LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use botanicaessentia.com, why we collect it, who handles it on our behalf, and the choices you have. We have kept it in plain language on purpose.
1. What we collect
When you buy something. Your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you give it, what you ordered, and the price paid. Your card details go directly to our payment processor, Square, on Square's own page; we never see or store your card number.
When you sign up for email. Your email address, the date, and which form you used.
When you write to us. Whatever you include in the message, so we can reply.
When you visit. Our hosting provider records connection details such as your IP address, the pages requested, and browser type, for a short period, to run and protect the site. We also count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records the page, the referring site, the browser type and the country, and does not identify you, set a cookie, or follow you to other sites.
Cookies and browser storage. We set no cookies of our own on the shop. Your cart is kept in your own browser's storage and is sent to us only when you check out. Square's payment page sets the cookies Square needs to take a payment securely; Square's privacy notice covers those.
2. How we use it
- To take payment for, pack, ship and deliver your order, and to tell you where it is.
- To answer your questions and handle returns.
- To send you a small number of emails about the collection, if you asked for them. Every one includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor it promptly.
- To keep the site running, secure, and free of fraud.
- To meet legal obligations such as tax records, which we must keep for several years.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
3. Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers, each of which acts on our instructions:
- Square, Inc., which processes payments and holds order records.
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the site, stores our order and sign-up records, counts visits, and sends our order emails.
- Google LLC, whose Workspace we use for the email we write and answer.
- Pirate Ship and the United States Postal Service, which print our shipping labels and deliver your parcel, and receive your name, address and phone number for that purpose.
4. How long we keep it
Order records: as long as tax law requires, usually seven years. Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. Correspondence: as long as it is useful to answer you, then deleted. Server records: days, not months.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. Write to hello@botanicaessentia.com and we will respond within 30 days.
California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights. Use the address above to make a request.
Everyone. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message, or by writing to us.
6. Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
7. Security
Payment pages are served over HTTPS and card data is handled by Square under the PCI DSS standard. We limit who at Botanica Essentia can see order information.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell email subscribers.
